Post F1 emoing...

Yesterday ptb smsed at 2:56pm. the message went as such:

Where are you?? Missing since friday, already 2 days gone!! At this rate when will you get the robot moving????

Today went down early. Checked the motors on my robot, tried to do some programming, ptb came. Made me trouble Anthony from A.M.O about the motors. I told him already Howie( the A.M.O programmer dude who the girls call gay) is not around on Mondays and Tuesdays yet ptb still had to make me call and confirm that i am corright. Next he searched high and low for around an hour for a rs 232 to rs 485 converter that we DO NOT need.

After that checked the motors of the girls robot (Biondi) and advised them on their queries. "Biondi's" motors were working fine, only two of them were drawing a higher amount of current than the others, gotta check that out.

As usual JJ came late and left early(10+ nearing 11 to after lunch which is 12+) with the excuse of claiming cab fare with vince. WTF la getting damn fedup with him, its like im alone in this project.

Woke up ABIT early on sunday, around 7am, Alvin called[iirc] to ensure that i wore black pants and stuff. He had already left the house. Nua(ed) awhile [abit too long i guess] and was around 10 min late [blames the stupid train that travels so slowly].

The previous day, after swimming with weirong i checked my phone and realised tcc had called me. Drove wr to his house then drove to mine, wanting to call them back when i was at home. When i was parking half way, alvin called me to tell me that they had finally "cleared" the security and we were able to work at the f1 on sunday.

What i felt had happened was as follows:

1. First 2 days they had some workers who could not speak english properly to work
2. Kena complain
3. So they no choice have to send them back and call us

Anyway, i arrived at city hall and we headed to the staff entrance of rccc to collect our clothes which was a dark blue uniform (pic of alvin wearing it to be posted later) sushi master style. Waited for around 2 hours before we collected our passes and headed out to the area.

We worked in the grandstands, opposite the pits. There were two levels of "suites" as they called it. Club was on the second level (probably cheaper) and sky suites on the 3rd level. The room i worked in was booked by standard charted. Apparently they were quite rich. They had booked two rooms on the second floor and two rooms on the third, linked by a staircase.

Started work.

Zhong Ren - 187cm RI guy under special program from CHINA, speaks quite fluent english (1st day)
Nicholas - NP computer engineering or sth guy (1st day)
Survash - Regular waiter at St Regis dosent like manager
Grace =) - Another regular waiter at St Regis, strict when it comes to working
China Girl - Sorry i called her that, she never really talk, also never take note of her name.

Others:

Uncle Andy - Main bartender
Aunty Ann - Cutlery I/C (I think)
Alex??? ( thats wad he call himself iirc, his real name is Nicholas too or sth...) - Bar, helps Uncle Andy, also got come out help serve, seems to come from china.
2x stewardess - 1 named karen another i forgot
Arungamn or sth - Damned manager

At first we did the preparations, manager assigned us our tables. Checked our cutlery and nua-ed awhile, organiser arrived early at around 5 plus. The others served her drinks and zong ren, nicholas, survash and i went to the staff only room to slack =/ soon, our manager followed in.

Grace didn't come, she was on towel duty. Towel duty means that you stand at the door and offer a towel to anyone who walks in. Its a taxing job especially for your left arm which carries the tray of towels. You have to hold the tray and cannot rest your arm, trains your biceps and wrist muscles i guess.

Time passed quickly as we were rested. Soon, we had to go back out to get ready for the guests to arrived. We did not have much to do until around 4 plus when the organiser came and we stood around for another one and a half hour before some guests start to arrive. By that time it was around seven thirty in the night.

Between 4 to 7 there were several other races. They were the aston martin race where all the db9's were racing followed by the Porsche where the carreras and stuff (they all have the same chasis) raced. Next was the BMW F2 race where the cars looked like those of the f1 but were smaller in size and probably went at a slower speed.

As the guests filled the room 1 by 1, it got busy for us. We had to ask if they had wanted any drinks, offer ice cream, clear their plates to the trolley and take the trolley to the pantry where it would be empty and the washing people would bring it to the first floor to wash.

Many of the guests came to my room with the sole purpose to have their dinner. After that, they would head upstairs to mingle with their friends over drinks( i guess, as i only went up once). It was not long before the race started. Most of the guests were outside cheering for their team. At that moment, i was appointed to do towel duty. So i had my buddy zhong ren to take over from me for awhile. With the excuse of going toilet, i went to walk around.

Saw many people queuing up for drinks below at the "bar" which was more of a shop with beer dispensers. Then i decided to stroll to the other end to access the public toilet instead of the small plastic cubicle one which we were supposed to use.

Went in to the guest toilet, many men were peeing on this long basin. They did not have seperate urinals, its just 1 long basin which you can consider a common urinal. Seeing that it was full, i decided to act smart and use the cubicle with a door. Tapped the door LIGHTLY and to my horror i saw a choked toilet bowl filled with shit. My reaction was OMG... and LIGHTLY pulled the door close.

Before i could react, there was a creeking sound and the top hinge broke off, followed by the bottom hinge, resulting in a loud bang, every1 stared at me. I quickly peed on the basin-like common cubicle thingy and washed my hands and walked out. =X

Continued working until the race was over (Alonso won). Apparently the people in my room were not really Renault fans and the cake that was prepared for them for the post race segment was totally wasted. We offered them but no one wanted it. Ended up throwing away alot of stuff.

For my room, the beers were untouched. We had like four cartons of beer(Tiger and Heineken) and no one requested for them. Guess that they were more of a classy bunch. Most of them were more into wine. The vodka and whisky were also untouched.

One by one, the guests started to leave. Cleared up and interacted more with my colleagues. We could finally talk freely as there was less people. Got to know them better. We were one of the first ones to finish clearing. Then our bastard manager went to call his friend and ask if he was done. Ended up we had to do his friends room also, what nonsense.

To our horror, the other room had no guys. Either that or the guys had left. So Nicholas and I had to carry a whole big basket of drinks down. The drinks included vodka, bombay sapphire gin and whiskey. Alex had his own box of wine but the basket was much heavier and despite 2 people carrying it, i could see nicholas abit bgl but as grace was scampering alongside he was trying to geng =X.

Finally done that room and waited for alvin and his friends. Waited for the bus back to RCCC to clock out and change back to our shirts. When we reached there a manager called us to transport out all the bags and for that we got to sign out first. There was this phillipine woman complaining that it was unfair =/.

Saw grace and survash after that then she told us the canteen still open, all of us chua tio... haha. Went down and alvin and i chatted with grace and suvash. Soon it was time to go home and we went up to take the busses provided by the company to go home.

Overall it was quite a good experience and i dont mind working at the F1 everyday, haha.

Also, I would like to apologise to afew people. Firstly, the people who used the guest toilet that i broke the door... I didn't mean it, the toilet bowl was full of shit anyway. I just tapped open the door, saw it full of shit and tap it lightly to close, and the whole door fell... Next is grace, for everything that i had done wrong, lol like sabo u to serve the drink to the wrong table =X. And lastly to the pple in the bus for making the driver do a small detour to my hse, cux im the only 1 who lives here >,<>

Disappointment

School offered me F1 job, i din wan cux only i got in but ming nvr get in. So followed Alvin to work at TCC HR. They screwed up bad. Only Thursday(1 day before the F1) called me say that they cannot get enough passes due to some security breach zzz What Nonsense La... supposed to work at f1 now cannot work...

I wanna apologize to Joel and Ka Wei for making them wait so long on thursday. Tot collect pay awhile only but then queued for damn long and that guy from the company gave an apology speech zzz. In the end we were too late to catch a movie cux alvin wan go home early... actually wanted to take pay and chiong to meet joel and ka wei, but alvin couldn't make up his mind to follow us or his friens so delay again.

Today drove my fathers car on my own for the first time. Went to sempang bedok for supper with WR and KY. No pics. Paid 50 cents for 2 hours parking(because aunty never come) at the public car park. Lucky never park at the coffeeshop car park. Its 80 cents an hour at there.

On 2 occasions almost tio accident. 1 was the turning into jln damai(i tink) that road. The light was green for quite some time and the cars on the opposite lane were not in motion so i turned, then suddenly they accelerate... then turn liao got 1 taxi stationary with hazard lights on. I moved right to overtake. It was a duel carriageway so i cut into the other lane abit. Suddenly he turn out and make 3 point turn... i was not fast enough.............. to horn......... but braked in time..... Heng no tai ji or else next time cannot drive alone liao =/

Random: I can see my parents are getting old and worried. My mother just extracted the 2 teeth below the front two teeth... er how to say... directly below the bunny tooth the 2 teeth. My father has already lost a tooth, the behind behind 1... then my mother asked him, " how does it feel like to wear fake teeth???". Then she was regretting extracting the teeth cux the dentist gave her 2 choices, 1. to extract now wait 2 weeks then clean up and make the fake teeth mould or 2. to eat antibiotics and tong 2 months then make the mould and remove the teeth. She chose 1 and now regretting =/


FYP wise, at least theres progress... done my program, now ptb wants some complicated program. Bad point is that 3/9 motors of my robot dont respond to my program, checked them and they seemed all right... Why wont they respond??? The girls team having problems with their robot, 1 leg the motor dono y dont have enough torque to lift the robot up. Maybe is because last time they send the wrong data then the motor abit spoil... Thursday tried to help them troubleshoot but to no avail...

Victory...

FYP:

Problem solved, ptb sat wif me and we troubleshooted for about an hour, finally got the program working. The downside however, is that not all the motors are responding to the program correctly. 1 spare motor and 3 motors on my robot are not responding, maybe when the motors were burnt and repaired something was wrong. the new motors dont seem to have any problem...

JJ didnt come since last thursday and now i need him to replace the spoilt motors... starting to make me feel pissed off...

Side note:

The feminine group under ptb decided to name their robot after me -.-

Sadness~~

Results sucked... GPA dropped...

Thurs: Solved board download problem and helped the girls move their robot motors.

Fri: Didn't go down to school, slept most of the day, night time wake up and eat dinner. WR got his rented honda fit and we went to clementi for supper with KY. Us being noobs, we got lost although we were headed the corright way, lol.

Sat: Drove around is WR's car again. Chionged up and down mount faber, took some pics which i dont have, prolly next post then upload. Then went to meet Alvin and Joel for SIN and KY got us lost, lol went past the sexpo exit 3 times without realising that xilin avenue / new upper changi road can go. SORRY ALVIN AND JOEL!!!

Sun: Went swim/tan, drove ky for his f1 training, went to grandmother hse while wr drove his parents and returned his car =/ thats all for now. tml nidda go down to school to try and troubleshoot the stupid mcu, and the guy from the yahoo group dosent want to reply me zzz.

Tio scam by Patt__hi, he said he was coming in the end never turn up. Biggest accomplishment of the day was eating Italian food at the Clementi Hawker Centre.

Went KY house and chiong GT5.

Sun:

Biked from ECP to CAP to CB and back. Got Pig but upload later cux my little leggies quite tired. Thighs cramped twice during the return trip to ECP. Hands also 三burnt because i nvr put三block or 三tan lotion.

Update

Afew days since i updated...
Saturday morning went to cut hair for the stupid hotel job at r(((. was the cheapest hair i ever cut, lol. Btw, coloring hair at there is $18... next time i got money mus try man, lol

went swimmin with WR and KY then went to KY house to play his ps3... was addicted to his GT5 prologue... all the cars damn cool la.. they even got the corvette Z06!!! but he nvr buy... he was savin up for the audi r8 and he bought the nissan gtr already =/

anyway during swimming i accidently killed a lizard =( i rolled my chair over its tail then the lizard suddenly immobile and look at its tail for like 1 hr then after that got flies come liao...

Shag Dao

Today morning went for brunch with my mother and aunties and cousins to crystal jade vivo to celebrate 3 of my aunties birthday. Then went back and changed into my black pants and shoes and went down to chinatown for the f1 training. Sunday gonna work at most probably raffles city convention centre as our on job training.

Also, the navy sent me this and since u all wanna see my elmo bed sheet here it is lol...:




















and my aunt gave me this 2 little piggies for the coming mooncake festival which i already ate...


Thats about all ba... tml goin cut hair and swim =)

ARGH

I'm in a fix. FYP again. Haven't enjoyed a bit of this holiday so far... only maybe after school today where i went out wif Joel, Alvin and KW + Bro to watch death race. quite a cool movie.

Anyway, ptb thinks the rs485 is at fault while i think the programming has gone wrong somewhere. today i troubleshooted the whole day and conclude that the program has gone wrong. didnt call the a main objective guy today as instructed by ptb jj told me that he was pissed off.

Prolly going down tml to SRG(my fyp) to try and find a solution also partly because i cant make it on friday as 3 of my aunts are celeberatin their birthdays at like 1230 vivo??? =/

HAIS stressed.
